In Dealer Solutions Software setting up a quote or payment becomes a simple money making process.  The screen layout allows even the novice car dealer a chance to sell a car with ease.

We are going to go through the 5 STEPS TO PREPARING A QUOTE below using Dealer Solutions Software Version 5.0 so that you can see just how simple it can.

STEP 1:  Select a Vehicle

To begin the quote first load in a vehicle from your current inventory list that you wish to sell.  If the vehicle was stocked in correctly and an Asking Price was entered it will show up and automatically be added to the Cash Price line item on the finance table.

In this example we have selected a 2003 Ford Focus SVT.  If the Asking Price listed says n/a you can bypass that and enter in a figure on the Cash Price line item or you can click the Edit Vehicle button to edit the vehicle entry.

If you have a salesman on this deal, you are given the option to select the salesman by click the Contact icon to the right.  This will ensure the salesman's commission is added to the deal and washsheet.

 

STEP 2:  Quote Prepared For

The next step in preparing a quote is to select whom the quote is in preparation for.  You have 3 options as to how to load that customer's information:

Quick Add: Just enter the customer's First Name, Last Name, and Phone Number in the boxes.  New Customer: Click New Customer and enter in the customer's info from the New Customer Record screen.  Load Customer:  Load an existing customer already entered in, maybe they have purchased in the past, were entered in to run a credit check, or were entered in before from a test drive.

You are then given the option to Pull a Credit Report or Edit the customer's Credit Application.

 

STEP 3:  Set Up Deal

This screen shows you exactly how the deal is structured.  Every line on the finance screen is editable to meet both the needs of your customer and to assure that you maintain profitability. Type in any cash down payment or add charges for Service Contracts or GAP by clicking on the appropriate line item.  If your customer offers you a specific delivered price that is acceptable, simply click on “Out the Door” on the bottom line of the screen, select “Cash Price” from the list and type in the desired price.  This will roll back the selling price, adjust the Sales Tax to match the lower selling price and provide you with the “delivered” price your customer requested.

NOTE: At the bottom left corner of every finance screen is a series of numbers labeled “Quote #”.  The last 6 numbers on the right tell you the gross profit in the deal so that you are constantly aware where you are!


 

STEP 4:  Menu Selling made Right

Now is the time to make your customer aware of the value-added products you offer. You can set up to 3 aftermarket products to be displayed on the menu by default, such as Service Contracts, GAP Contracts, etc.  Each box displays the payment that includes the product selected.  If your customer requests any of the products you have displayed, simply check the box labeled “Yes, I would like this product” and it automatically adds that product to the monthly payment.  You and your customer will immediately see how each product impacts the payment by just a few dollars per month for each valuable product.

STEP 5:  Set Up Payments

Everything you and your customer need to know about the amount to be financed, the term, the interest rate and the respective payment is displayed here.  You can change any value and it will immediately recalculate the correct payment when you hit enter on your keyboard.  It also displays every payment from 6 months to 60 months at a glance; however the “Term” field will accept and calculate any term.  It also displays total interest paid, total of payments and any odd final payment. 

Once you and your customer have agreed on your deal, you may load your quote, save it for future retrieval or select “Make this a deal” and all of your information will be loaded and ready to print!  Nothing could be easier!
